ABOUT

I started this blog back in 2008 with the intention of just blathering on about stuff and making myself a little more computer literate. Slowly I started adding pictures of things I was making, Artist Trading Cards, Art Journaling and Mixed Media canvases and collage work.

Then I discovered beads......oh boy! and making jewellery and that was the beginning of the end of the search for my niche, or so I thought.

Back in 2010 I took a class in working with Precious Metal clay with the idea of making my own components and findings. Really enjoyed it but found it rather expensive and open flames were involved. But during that class we practiced making textures and shapes with polymer clay before attempting the same on the PMC and I found the polymer clay so much fun to work with I haven't looked back.

I started with someone's unwanted pasta machine and a small plastic container with half a dozen colours of Premo Polymer clay. Now I have a cupboard full of clay paraphernalia, from texture plates, cutting blades, cookie cutters to books and magazines, embossing powders, mica powders, paints and anything I think I can use with clay.

That's the beauty of polymer, it can be manipulated to look like almost anything, from gem stones to metal. It can be squashed, twisted, cut, sliced, molded, painted, polished and if you don't like it just roll it up and start again.

You know what? I think I found my niche!
